New York Style Bagels to Kill the Time...

My days as a 'Research Technician' are numbered....just four more days. I have Wednesday (today) and Friday off. So, to pass the time today, I decided to try out one of the numerous recipes that I have found online--New York Style bagels.

The recipe, found here at TSG is so yummy and super easy! I had a little trouble getting the dough to rise properly, I should have let the yeast sit a little longer, and it was a little too cool in the kitchen. Also, I did not use bread flour, but all-purpose, which I think does make a difference because of the gluten. But all in all, the process is simple and the results delicious. Mine bagels were definitely not perfectly round and they in no way resemble something that could be sold in a bakery--but does it really matter when they are for personal consumption?

Disclaimer: I am not a professional photographer, nor do I have a professional-grade camera. 'Nuf said. :)
I sometimes feel like this is turning into a food blog, because that seems to be what I post a lot of--food!  With that said, here are a few more recipes that I have found 'round the internet. I have not tested all of them, so I can not give you a guarantee that they are as excellent as they look.

1) Pumpkin Pecan Bread from Bake or Break. Looks delicious!
2) Easy Honey Granola from NAMI-NAMI. It's a super easy recipe, and you can easily add more to it, like crasins, rasins, nuts, etc.
3) Lasagna Soup from A Farm Girl's Dabbles. Soup of any kind is sounding good with this chilly weather.
4) Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies also from Bake or Break. Chocolate. And Peanut Butter.  Need I say more?

I literally have about 20-25 recipes bookmarked in my browser. I need to start trying them out.  And of course, as I make them, I will post and keep you up-to-date!
