October is a Chilly Month...

Ok, October is really not that cold. But here's what you missed since my last update:

1) I have a car--yay! She's old, but she's working out so far.  She doesn't like the cold (a little bit like her owner) and she has a persistent squeal (she needs a belt change)

2) I've been working as a telephone surveyor, trying to convince busy professionals that they should spend 10-30 minutes of their life on the phone/online/or on paper filling out a survey. Ha.

3) I'm living in Anchorage, learning my way around town.  Did I ever mention I am directionally challenged? Yes...there was this one dark, stormy night that I got lost on my way to my aunt and uncle's house. I eventually made it with the help of my wonderful aunt.

4) I really miss my friends from school! Particularly my roomie. Well, ex-roomie, I guess.

5) I am now trained as a barista...Kaladi Brother's trained, that is. I can now make you a delicious, properly made cappicino or latte.  Yet another skill to add to my resume :)

6) I worked at an auction in Fairbanks...the first time I have been to Fairbanks since I was seven. It really has been that long!

7) I went to a Cedarville Alumni dinner this past week and got to meet some of the CU people that live in Alaska. I feel like such an alum now!

8) Melissa, a friend of hers and I went up to Powerline Pass this past week with the dogs (Hagar, Pierre and Moki) and spent about two hours walking in and back out. The view of Denali from up above Anchorage was amazing! Sadly, we did not see any bull moose fighting.

We had an absolutely gorgeous view of Mt. McKinley/Denalie.
