IRB Certified
I guess I could make excuses for why I haven't posted since June. Let's just say I was taking a sabbatical from blogging.
I just started a new job--it's only a seven week commitment, but it's a start. I have to say, though, that the first day of a new job is a little nerve-wracking! But they break us in easy. I now work at the Institute of Social and Economic Research as a telephone surveyor. I am IRB (Institutional Review Board) certified. And in seven weeks I will, once again, be looking for a job. But a lot can happen in seven weeks. I could find something more permanent. Maybe I'll move. I hear Hawaii is nice this time of year...I am really missing those beaches!
I love the freedom I have now--to go anywhere, to do anything. No homework in the evening! That is one thing I do not miss about school! At least with a job, once you are done for the day, you are done. No late nights finishing that final project, or studying for an exam. No more ramen noodle snacks (yes, crazy as it might seem, I really like dry ramen noodles as a snack!) I want to travel...unfortunately, you need a job and money to do that. But the list of places I just 'have' to go some day is adding up--England, New Zealand, Australia, Austria.
Oh, and in case you are wondering about how my horticultural experiments went--I managed to grow basil and oregano, as well as some mint...and quite a few weeds. They didn't look like weeds when they were little. They can be deceptive like that.
So, now that you have some insight into my new life, I will leave you with this bit of wisdom. Never buy ten pounds of cheddar cheese!
