It's Been a Long Time But Life's Been Crazy...

I received my graduation packet today (*jumps up and down in excitement*). It's hard to believe that my college education is already ending. Well. Enough reminiscing. This week at work has been crazy. I work at the Career Services office on campus. Its a job/internship for me. I do a lot of resume editing, answer phones, and do one-on-one resume appointments with students. I've learned a lot. We had a Career Fair this past Wednesday, and the week leading up to it, more and more students posted their resumes on the website to be approved. But wait--there's only three of us and 47 resumes to look at! We have finally whittled the number down into the 20's. The day of the Career Fair, we had students coming in and out all day, and of course, the day we need it most, our copier ran out of ink and we couldn't copy their resumes onto nice paper; instead, we had to put the paper into the printer, have them log onto a computer, and print it that way instead. Gotta love those random curveballs :) But we survived, and life has slowed down again. And I got an extra hour of work out of the deal, so life is good.

Today is a CU Friday, which means that 400+ extra people (prospective students and their parents) are milling about campus. Which is great for them, but it means that everything gets a little more crowded. Especially the cafeteria. But at least they have good food on CU Fridays! :) (that's a CU joke, by the way). But that does bring me to another point. I have challenged myself to not complain about 'Chucks' as we lovingly call our cafeteria. I'm going to try not to complain about the 'lack' of edible food, the havoc it wreaks on my digestions (TMI?) or anything else that I might say. Because really--I'm blessed to have so many options. The challenge--to not say a single bad thing about the food. My friend is going to help keep me accountable. Fortunately, I can say that they have good coffee; amazing ice cream (the espresso chip is wonderful!); decent pizza...and I'm sure you don't want to hear any more about my school cafeteria. I can picture it now--'Rachel, why are you telling me all of this, I could care less about that'--So I guess I'll end this post, and come back when I have something deep and profound. Which probably means I would never post another word. Because my life is not deep and profound, it is normal, uneventful. But I'm guessing also you don't read this because of my 'words of wisdom'.

Ok. Enough said.

Note on the picture: I love old cars. I went shopping with some friends a couple weeks ago and there were several old cars parked along the street. This was one of them.

I would have done more but they didn't need any more help after the fair was over...
